Hi, I’m Carleigh!
I am the artist & designer behind this work and I’m truly so happy you’re here.
I’ve always been fueled by a desire to create things ~ As a child, I loved more than anything to draw, paint, sculpt with clay, arrange flowers, make jewelry, sew clothes for my dolls… and not much has changed! One of the greatest gifts of my childhood was my parents’ encouragement of creativity. They fostered the love that they saw in me for art, and believed in its value. They gave me space and supplies to create, and provided opportunities to grow and explore, and experience the beauty of nature. I think all along I just knew it was what I was meant to do ~ to create and to share beauty with the world in whatever way I could ~ and I haven’t looked back.
In 2013 I received my bachelor’s degree in art and design with an emphasis in graphic design. I had the opportunity to study art on the sunny Greek island of Paros where I took my first painting class, and the months I spent there will forever be a source of inspiration and filled with the most beautiful memories. Aaron and I got married that summer and spent our first years together living a simple, quiet life in our little beach town where the story of my journey with this business begins! The summer before we had Winnie, we spent time in Paris and traveled the French Riviera ~ it was heavenly and so special to share just the two of us before starting our family. Seeing masterpieces by some of the greatest artists in history is a feeling I’ll never forget, and continues to inspire my work today.
I’ve always been drawn to the stunning still-lifes and florals by the great Masters, the elegant clean lines of ancient Japanese Prints, and intricate patterns of wallpaper and textiles designed throughout history. I’ve come to love the practice of pattern-making and hope to incorporate more of it into my work in the future! I’m endlessly inspired by flowers and the world around me, and have found that bringing pieces of nature into my home through art has filled it with beauty, peace, comfort, and light. I believe in the purpose and value of home… In creating spaces that are lovely and meaningful to us; filled with warmth, kindness and rest. I hope that if my work finds its way into your home, these things find their way also.
